The wedding circus is coming to Seattle September 5th!

We booked Urban Light Studios this week, and it is so incredibly perfect. Because it's not a "wedding factory" we can do pretty much anything we like. Being a New York Jew I have a phobia of pre-packaged, scripted celebrations. Do you know how many Bar and Bat Mitzvas I went to as a kid? A lot. A lot of lighting candles for loved ones, wearing awful dresses and many, many rounds of the chicken dance. There will be none of that. But there will be a Chocolate Fountain, carnival games and possibly an ice sculpture of a bear on a tiny bicycle. Izzy is requesting Chicken Shit Bingo, but I'm not sure the studio will go for that.... Oh, and as per request (due to phobias) there will be no clowns. Below are some photos of the studio, but these don't even do the place justice....

There's also a patio, a library, the Northern Exposure room, and downstairs a huge white brick room for the ceremony and a gallery room we will be using as a second bar room. I mean come on, you guys like to drink, right?

O.K. So the task at hand is to find a venue, set a date and collect the address (snail and email) of everyone we are inviting. The space we have in mind, Urban Light Studios is very reasonable, and I love the set up. It's even got a room that was the set of Northern Exposure. And a Tiki Room, complete with a Tiki bar and a stuffed feline of some kind. We are looking at the space Tuesday, so hopefully we will be able to lock down the date this week (hoping for Labor Day, Monday Sept. 5th). I know this is especially important for all you out of town friends and family members, and I'm doing my best to move it along. Izzy keeps saying, "Babe anything you want is fine, you plan it and I'll show up", but he's not getting off the hook that easily. Seriously.
